Participants Dance Lessons $5.00 The lessons are optional but highly recommended to prepare one for the 1876 Grand Ball. Dance lessons are $5 per person. It is also recommended that participants wear comfortable clothing to the dance lessons. Questions may be asked by calling Mrs. TJ Wald (406) 639-2219 Since June of 1999, Mrs. Wald has been the 1876 Grand Ball Dance Mistress. This position requires organizing the dance program, teaching the dances of the era, aligning the Grand March participants, and calling the dances during the three-hour event. The evening begins at 8:00 p.m. with several demonstrations including vintage dances, the language of the Victorian fan, wonderful fiddle music, the Grand March and much more all performed by the 1876 Grand Ball participants including children. This portion of the Grand Ball is open to spectators for a fee of $5.00.
